The Trail of Green - Artists creating work in support of the people of Iran

Los Angeles, CA- iGreen, a group of artists not affiliated with any political party, organization or group, will present the launch of a series of art events in solidarity with the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom and justice.

iGreen will hold its first event on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm to coincide with 16 Azar, Iranian Students’ Day. The event will take place across the street from the Federal Building, on the northwest side of Wilshire Blvd. at Veteran in West Los Angeles.

This event will consist of four parts:
  1. The Trail of Green is a public art installation of shoes painted green, lined up in procession on the sidewalk to convey the movement of people marching toward the same destination. This work aims to underscore the fact that Iranian people around the world are moving forward together on the same path for a better future;
  2. iGreen Mailbox, where people are invited to write letters of support to the people in Iran;
  3. A special appearance by Sand Ninja for an interactive performance; and
  4. The public is invited to bring flashlights to participate in the interactive portion of the event after nightfall.

In case of rain, the event will be modified as follows:

The Trail of Green installation will be postponed and an alternate interactive will take place.
